I'm going to have to go with the hydrangeas, though the contest is a bit tilted in their favor since the image for the azaleas is broken at the moment! But I think I'd go that way anyway. We had one or the other at different houses from my childhood, but I think my mother wasn't overly fond of azaleas (especially if they were a loud color) and she probably biased me that way.
Though if you saw the 4th-grade play I was in, you'd have gotten the impression I liked chrysanthemums the best, since I was, um, playing one...

I have loved azaleas in the spring since my years in Arkansas. Hydrangeas may be winning me over, though.
That play also taught me about the energizing potential of green tights (the stem)... Happily, there is no video evidence!
