My fave tube terminology is "mind the gap", but I'd forgotten "way out".
I went and looked through my snapshots from my 2003 trip to London and was amused to find I took a picture of my mother at that exact same mounted guard spot! There's no "beware" sign in my shot, but the hook is there -- maybe they only put it out for certain horses?? I think that horseman might be snoozing in your picture...
I could have stood much closer, sm, but the sign deterred me--horse may kick or bite. HAH!
I am in Paris now, for the whole month. Plaisir!
So jealous of that month!
